Beer in the Sand

Thought I’d mosey on out in the rain

On my snake-headed Hobbit’s feet

Down to the beach

Sipping an ice cold Amstel

14% extra free

Or… mas! If we’re being Spanish

I followed the feral cats

All full up on feral rats

Imposter in this town

I’m no tourist!

I’m where the Spanish go

Ho ho ho

What an intolerable boob

What the ‘hip’ kids call a noob

I carried on following the cats

All full up on feral rats

Down to the beach

With my crystal cold beer

In my swinging hand

Surveying the land

Me and my can.

Such a foolish boy and his impish swing

Arms full of bravado

And the faithful can

Knocks against his leg

And drops into the parched and waiting sand

Out she froths

A tiny tidal wave of wheaty suds
