They were watching videos of some

Newborn I didn’t know, or didn’t care to know

From a family I don’t know

So I sat on my own by a window

And watched the world change colour

Lights like pricking pins

Little fog of little boats sailed on fire

Past rocks of islands and gone

An old wooden chair with frayed legs I sat

Head propped with drooping eyes

Tired from the day

Bush, shrub, trees, rock

A load of shit I suppose classed beautiful

But today I see the ugly

Ugly grey rock

Nasty black clouds

Cold, unforgiving Norse water

Spindly trees devoid of

Green leaves nowhere to be seen

Cigarettes and milk better

Coffee, caffeine addiction

Would rather have tea

Such a tame addiction to have
